THE Neal and Massy Group of Companies continued its support to sports locally with a financial donation to the Guyana Football Referees Council (GFRC) during a simple ceremony at AINLIM, Ruimveldt head office last Friday. President of the Neal and Massy Sports Club, Stuart May, presented a cheque to Senior vice-president of the GFRC, Dion Inniss, to assist the Council to purchase gear for the local referees.
May said Neal and Massy Group has contributed significantly towards the development of sport locally and identified cricket, athletics, rugby, football, golf and chess as just a few of the sports disciplines that have benefited from financial assistance from the group and this was the second time the GFRC has received assistance from the Group.
Secretary of the GFRC, Troy Peters, who was also present at the ceremony said the donation was timely as local referees prepare for a busy schedule this year including participation in several international tournaments as well as local competitions.
He expressed gratitude to the Neal and Massy Group Chief Executive Officer Mr Deo Persaud, who was instrumental in approving the financial assistance, saying “Neal and Massy continues to be a good corporate citizen and we applaud its effort in assisting in the development of sport locally,” Peters said.
The Neal and Massy Group comprises Associated Industries Ltd (AINLIM), Demerara Oxygen Company (DOCOL), Geddes Grant, Marketing and Distribution Inc., CCS, NMSL and NM Security Solutions.
