THE bodies of two men, alleged to be alcoholics, were found separately in East Canje, Berbice, on Monday morning. One of them, 47-year-old Abdul Satar Rasheed, of Lot 9 Adelphi Settlement, was seen in his yard, shortly after 06:30 hrs.
The unemployed man, a known consumer of alcoholic beverages, was also an epileptic and relatives who discovered him said he may have suffered a seizure while under the influence.
Parmanand Nauth, 44, who not employed either, was at Workshop Street, Canefield, Canje, too. Both were taken to Arokium’s Funeral home in New Amsterdam.
Police said Nauth, of Lot 92, East Canefield, lived alone and was last seen alive at 10:45 hrs when he visited a friend and requested to use the latrine at the back of the yard.
Five minutes later, after leaving the place, he was seen staggering before collapsing.
No marks of violence were on the deceased but investigations into their deaths are continuing.
