A woman was yesterday remanded to prison by Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on a charge of attempted murder.
Jewel Coats, 29, (no address given) was not required to plead to the indictable charge, which stated that on May 18, with intent to commit murder, she unlawfully and maliciously inflicted grievous bodily harm on Michael Balkarran Singh.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, objected to bail and informed the court that the accused and virtual complainant were at a shop when the incident occurred.
