Jamaica still in charge of CFU

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC) – Powerhouses Jamaica strengthened their position as the top side in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), jumping nine spots in the latest FIFA rankings released yesterday. Jamaica have led the CFU rankings ever since they captured the Digicel Caribbean Cup back in December.
They are now 55th in the FIFA rankings and have moved into fourth spot on the CONCACAF list, overhauling Costa Rica who dropped one place to fifth.
With hardly any activity on the field in the CFU, there has been no change to the top 10, with Cuba continuing in second closely tracked by Trinidad and Tobago in third.
Haiti gained two spots overall but remained fourth with Grenada still fifth despite rising one place in the FIFA rankings.
Antigua and Barbuda, Guyana, Suriname, St Kitts and Nevis and Dominica continue to occupy sixth to 10th place in CFU.
World champions Spain, meanwhile, have retained their number one ranking in FIFA in a top 10 that has remained unchanged from the April release.
