THE preliminary inquiry (PI) into the murder charge against the 19-year-old woman accused of stabbing her lesbian lover to death, began before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday.
Tiffany Clark, of Lot 67 Hunter Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, had been previously remanded to prison in February, charged with unlawfully killing Zenobia James. Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, called Debra Leander, mother of the deceased as the first witness and she was also cross-examined by Defence Counsel George Thomas.
As the deponent was testifying, other relatives of the deceased wept silently in the courtroom.
At the adjournment, to May 18, the prosecutor indicated that he has eight witnesses.
