Defendant in transferred marijuana case remanded

MARK Bullen (no address given) was remanded to prison yesterday on a drug possession charge.
He appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry and pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said he had 30 grammes of cannabis (marijuana) on April 27.
Police Corporal Venetta Pindar, prosecuting, who successfully objected to bail for the defendant, said police, acting on information, were going to arrest him when he threw away a transparent plastic bag which, when retrieved, contained leaves, seeds and stems of the prohibited plant.
The case has been transferred to Christianburg Court, in Linden, for May 3.
