A GROUP comprising Guyana-born businessmen and professionals resident in the Netherlands has expressed optimism that the People’s Progressive Party(PPP) has made the right choice recently in electing Mr.Donald Ramotar as their Presidential candidate for the upcoming general elections scheduled to be held later this year. One of the informal group members, Dr. Rishi Gopaul, a Guyana-born physician residing in Rotterdham, told the Chronicle that while the Guyanese diaspora is well aware that there are other qualified presidential hopefuls within the PPP’s rank and file membership, they also agreed that Mr. Ramotar’s nomination was very deserving and is the most appropriate choice.
Dr. Gopaul also noted that the Guyanese community in Holland will be inclined to support Mr. Ramotar in his bid to become Guyana’s next president, and urges the party to go into the upcoming general elections unified. (Odella Patterson)
