THE National Congress of Women (NCW), the women’s arm of the People’s National Congress Reform will host a Special Women’s Convention beginning at 09:30 hrs today, at Congress Place, Sophia. The PNCR said this Convention, under the theme, ‘Mobilising and Empowering Women for Governance’, is being convened for the “purpose of mobilising our women for their role and participation in the upcoming National and Regional Elections.” It said this Convention will bring together women from the ten (10) Regions of Guyana.

PNCR Leader Mr. Robert Corbin, is slated to “set the tone” of the Convention, while the main address will be given by the Party’s Presidential Candidate, Brigadier (ret’d) David Granger.

The party said some attention will also be paid to ‘Campaigning Strategies’, especially since the women form the main pillar of the PNCR and will be expected to play an active role in the upcoming elections.  Through group discussions, the women will make recommendations for an effective campaign strategy in their Regions.
PNCR General Secretary Mr. Oscar Clarke, is slated to deliver the Charge to the participants.
