RABINDRANAUTH Goorsammy, 56, of 393 Section ‘B’ Sophia, Greater Georgetown, was killed on Monday after he was struck down by a motor van on Barr Street, Kitty.
The man’s wife, Bibi Goorsammy, yesterday told the Guyana Chronicle that as usual her husband left home for work as a mechanic, and he was retrieving something from his car trunk on Barr Street when the van struck him. He was picked up by his sister and rushed to the hospital.
The grieving woman added that her husband succumbed to his injuries that afternoon after surgery.
The driver of the motor vehicle is in police custody assisting with investigations.
The father of two was described a generous, quiet and loving person.
His wife said that they had been married for 28 years.
