JUSTICES Roxanne George and Dawn Gregory will be assigned to preside at the April Criminal Session to be officially opened with a ceremonial parade on Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Justice Dawn Gregory, one of the judges who presided at the January session, along with Justice Winston Patterson, will officially close the January Session tomorrow.
She will do so after receiving the Jail Delivery from an official of the Georgetown Prison who will disclose the number of prisoners in jail awaiting trial.
The official will also tell the court about the number of prisoners who are requesting speedy trial.
Tomorrow, Justice Gregory will also discharge her jurors and commend them for their service.
On the other hand, Justice Winston Patterson discharged his jurors yesterday and thanked them for their service. He told them that they were now free from jury service for the next two years, since they had served a period providing for them a holiday from service.
On Tuesday next there will be the traditional ceremonial parade to mark the opening of the session.
