A three-day event, Wedding Expo will kick off today, in fine style as in previous years, at the Roraima Duke Lodge on Duke Street, Georgetown.
CEO of Roraima Holdings, Gerry Gouveia, says that for anyone getting married, attending Wedding Expo should be part of their plans. Gouveia noted that the exhibition has been planned for March to facilitate people getting married in June. Attendees will be treated to loads of information, glamorous fashion shows and random winning of fabulous door prizes.
The exhibition, now in its third year, was created to simplify the planning of all events surrounding the wedding, including the enagagement, travel arrangements, bachelor and bachelorette parties, accommodation for families travelling from overseas, tours , car rentals, the ceremony and reception, the honeymoon, buying the first house or car and anniversaries.
At the launch earlier this month, President of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) Mr. Komal Ramnauth, opined that this year’s Expo would be even bigger than in previous years.
He commented on the benefits of the event to those planning a wedding and those working in the wedding industry, citing success stories of caterers, photographers and other service professionals whose incomes expanded by as much as 300 percent after marketing their skill at the Expo.
Guyana Tourism Authority representative Ms. Tomeka Singh noted that a few years ago many persons didn’t know where to get caterers, invitations and other products, but this is now changing with Wedding Expo.
The event starts at 17:00hrs and the public is invited.
