Jewel larceny defendant granted $50,000 bail

QUINCY Alexander (no address given) was granted $50,000 bail yesterday on a larceny from the person charge.
Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, he denied that, last January 12, he stole one gold chain, valued $30,000, from Eslyn Fanfare.
Police Corporal Venetta Pindar, prosecuting, said the virtual complainant was a pedestrian when the defendant rode up behind her, snatched the jewel off her neck and escaped.
However, the prosecutor said he was arrested later and identified as the perpetrator.
The case has been transferred to another court for April 5.
