I WAS very impressed with the President’s speech last Sunday at the Babu John ceremony and because of his achievements as a youthful person who has won the hearts of many youths across the country.
I am writing to this newspaper to represent a very important issue on behalf of a very large youth organization and other youths who will be voting for the very first time in this coming regional and general elections. The PPP/C, which is at present trying to choose a presidential candidate should take into consideration that at least 50% of the voters are youths, but they did not choose a youthful candidate.
Cde. Jagdeo has done wonders for this country as a youthful president and we could list so many things he has done for the betterment of this country.
What the PPP executive committee should look at is that this formula of a youthful person should not be changed as this has brought success for the party and people of this country.
They should continue with youth, which means that the only youthful person with the class, courage, intelligence, right approach, and the zeal to reach out to the people of this country is no other than Mr. Robert Persaud.
President Jagdeo said that the PNC/R has chosen a man from the past, so don’t let us choose a man who can be similarly accused, when we have a leader who is leaving at 47.
Come on, we need people with vision, and Robert Persaud is the only one with that bravery to tell this nation that he can serve in any capacity.  I will continue to represent that he should be chosen.
