Guyana/Hungary fledgling relations to improve – as new Ambassador is accredited

New Ambassador of Hungary to Guyana, De Csaba Szijjarto, is hoping to be the first to break new ground in relations between the two countries.
Thursday the Ambassador presented his Letters of Credence to President Bharrat Jagdeo at the Office of the President, optimistic that he will take the two countries’ relations from the starting point.
“We have to build a new relationship… we are optimistic about the future,” Ambassador Szijjarto said.
With Hungary now holding the presidency of the European Union (EU) relations with the Americas are among top priorities.
The ambassador is a newcomer in the diplomatic arena, having recently taken up the post as Hungary’s representative in Brazil, Guyana and Suriname.
He believes that the good relationship which Europeans have with Latin America can also influence relations with the Caribbean. (GINA)
