SRI Lanka began their build-up to ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 with a massive 156-run win over Netherlands at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.
Sri Lanka posted 351 for four in their 50 overs and Netherlands lost their way in the chase as they was bowled out for 195 in 47.3 overs.
Tillakaratne Dilshan (78), Thilan Samaraweera (60), Chamara Silva (54) and Chamara Kapugedera (50 not out) – scored impressive half-centuries as Sri Lanka opted not to let skipper Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardena bat. Among the others Upul Tharanga notched up 47, Angelo Mathews (21) and Nuwan Kulasekara made 14 off eight balls to take Sri Lanka to 351 for 4.
Netherlands struggled in the chase as paceman Dilhara Fernando took four wickets as only Tom de Grooth, who made 76 off 96 balls, offered any resistance. Bas Zuiderent (38) was the only other batsman to make any substantial contribution.
Thisara Perera and Rangana Herath picked up two wickets apiece before Sri Lanka registered an easy win.
