Children’s Mashramani Competitions end on heady note

-Despite poor participation on final day
A MERE five schools participated in the final segment, Physical Display, of the Georgetown’s Children Mashramani competition, held Friday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, but the performances generated much excitement nonetheless.
Sophia Primary, West Ruimveldt Primary, Tutorial High School, Lodge Secondary and North Georgetown advanced entries under two categories, combination and pyramids.
Though participation was poor, the energetic shows made up for it as best as five schools could, as the students made use of their athletic abilities in the absence of focus on gymnastics locally.
West Ruimveldt Primary treated the audience to everything, from splits, catches, jumps – leapfrogging included – and spins and twirls and everything in between.
To all intents and purposes, it was a well-coordinated performance and secured the school the top spot when the results were announced.
