PPP/C deserves another term

THE People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) government deserves another term in office to continue the massive development that is currently taking place across the country. With general and regional elections a few months away, the voting population should realize a bright future awaits them if the PPP/C government is returned to office.
We cannot be fooled by persons who say this government has not delivered during the past 18 years. Voters need to look around and see for themselves. This is not something you cannot see. It is in front of you everywhere you travel around…it is development… ongoing development under the PPP/C government. Progress must continue and so we have to ensure that come elections-day, the PPP/C will return to office with a bigger majority in Parliament.
Now, just to name some projects that Guyanese need to remember, in case they forgot that they were done under the PPP/C government.
Look at the massive development in the housing sector, new modern houses in modern schemes with running water, electricity, paved streets and roadways.
Let me point to the Diamond Housing Scheme as an example. Look at the thousands of new houses across this country. Every region has a housing boom. To add to the housing project, there is a reliable potable water sector delivering in many areas treated water. Government has invested millions of dollars to set up water treatment plants countrywide, low interest loans available to boost the housing drive.
Let’s turn to roads. Look at the new four-lane highway in Georgetown and street lights all over Georgetown, East Coast, East Bank to the International Airport, West Coast, some parts of Berbice, Parika, et cetera, I can’t name all the places.
Every region has new roads, streets, et cetera. The people need to judge for themselves. So much is happening in our country. We cannot and must not stop development. Look at some ongoing projects soon to start – the hydro power station, Lethem to Linden Highway (to start soon) deep water harbour (to start soon) drilling for oil across the country, new ferries for Parika to Good Hope crossing, etc. The new four-lane road from Providence to Grove. Don’t forget the Berbice floating bridge already completed and the increase of vehicles across this country. Look at the amount of schools constructed across this country and the vast improvement in the delivery of education.
We cannot curse the bridge that we have crossed. We have already seen the light at the end of the dark tunnel. The PPP/C has brought us there and will take us to the place of industrialisation and a new life of peace and happiness.
We cannot afford to go backward; it’s forward with the PPP/C.
We are eating well, living well in peace. Let’s work together with the PPP/C to ensure a bright future for the generation to come.
Plan now for the future with the PPP/C. Don’t be left behind. We want to see the completion of the hydro power station and cheap power in this country that will trigger a massive boom in redevelopment.
We want to see the completion of the Linden to Lethem Highway. We want to see the production of oil and we want to see the cost of living drop in this country much lower – only possible if the PPP/C return to continue their plans for development.

They have done so much in reducing the foreign debt so as to pave the way for a lower cost of living. We are about to get it. So think ahead; we need the PPP/C to continue.
They surely deserve another term for their sterling performance in this term.
