CONTRACTOR Seon Richmond, of Lot 487 Canvas City, Mackenzie, Linden, has been charged with drug trafficking.
He appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, on Thursday, and pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, last February 2, he had 211 grammes of cannabis (marijuana) in his house for the purpose. Police Corporal Venetta Pindar, prosecuting, said around 19:00hrs, Police on mobile patrol saw the defendant walking and searched him but found nothing.
However, a search at his residence yielded the narcotic in a barrel in the backyard, the prosecutor told the Court.
Richmond was remanded to prison until February 15 and the case has been transferred to Christianburg court, also in Linden.
