Reputed wife penalized for wasting Court time

Domestic violence case…
A MAN, charged with threatening behaviour in a domestic violence case, was freed yesterday but his reputed wife, who made the report to the Police, was penalized.
Denise Marks, who told Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry that she does not wish to proceed with the case, was ordered to pay $10,000 costs for wasting the Court’s time.
She had alleged that her reputed husband, Lennox King, threatened to beat her after he could not locate the remote control for the television at their Lot 282 Lamaha Park home, on January 24.
But he pleaded not guilty to the offence and the charge against him was dismissed.
Police Corporal Sean Blackman, prosecuting, had made an unsuccessful application for King to be placed on a bond.
