DERRICK Favourite, of Lot 16 ‘A’ Water Street, Georgetown, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on Wednesday, on a robbery with violence charge. He pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on January 20, he robbed Arfana Agard of a cellular phone, worth $70,000, using personal violence on her at the time.
Police Corporal Vanetta Pindar, prosecuting, said the virtual complainant was walking along Croal Street, also in the city, when the defendant took away her phone and slapped her across the face.
The Prosecutor said, when arrested, Favourite confessed to committing the crime and he was put on $75,000 bail until February 8.
