TWENTY-ONE more women have graduated from baking and cooking courses on the Essequibo Coast.
They acquired their new skills from the Johanna Cecilia Learning Resource Centre after being coursed for three months. The Chairman, Mr. Doodnauth Singh said the Centre trained scores of them during 2010 to prepare various foods, snacks, pastry, Indian sweetmeats and to bake and decorate cakes.
Mrs. Parbittie Singh, the teacher who conducted the classes, said the graduates were taught to make, bake and decorate cakes and produce novelty ones for different occasions.
She said, at the conclusion of the final 2010 course, the trainees were made to bake various types of cake and display them.
According to her, they did well and were awarded certificates.
Another class, the first for this year, will begin on January 15.
