Computer donation to improve computer literacy

I couldn’t help but notice the recent donation of 20 new computers to the Upper Corentyne Training Centre by President Bharrat Jagdeo. This is a good way for the President to deliver on his promise to improve computer literacy across Guyana, by providing Guyanese with the necessary tools.
In this day and age of information technology, where the world is rapidly evolving through the use of computer science,
almost every aspect of day to day life is now shifting towards the use of the internet. With just the click of a mouse, one can complete so many different tasks, from shopping for books and clothes, to completing a university degree, to finding lost loved ones. Being computer literate and efficient in the use and administration of information technology is extremely important, since it gives individuals that competitive edge. There are so many benefits that Guyanese can capitalize on if we are educated in the use of computer technology. For the President to provide citizens with the tools to ensure this, shows that we are on our way towards progressive development.
