THE Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha has organised Kala Utsav or the Indian Festival of Art Forms for Sunday November 28, 2010 beginning at
10:00 hrs at the Sanskritik Kendra in Prashad Nagar, Georgetown.
President Bharrat Jagdeo is the Guest of Honour and will reflect on the contributions of young people in the development of cultural art and music, following which he will present trophies to winners.
Young talented individuals, country-wide will participate and the very best will be suitably awarded. They will be evaluated by a panel of experienced judges in vocal and instrumental music, dancing and Ramayan chanting taken from Lanka Kand.
Last year the Sabha introduced Kirtan and will continue to have this item, so that in time our Mandir Kirtan groups will provide a more professional touch to devotional singing.
President of the Sabha, Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud will put the festival into perspective and launch the Utsav on the lawns of the Sanskritik Kendra.
