THE Rest Team controlled the third day’s play in the Guyana Cricket Board’s (GCB) four-day tournament with a sparkling century from Shemroy Barrington that ensured they hold a 132-run lead going into today’s final day at the Blairmont Community Centre ground.
The Rest Team, going into yesterday’s third day, had a deficit of 190 runs but by stumps yesterday had reached 322-5 with Barrington unbeaten on 152 and Delbert Hick on 11. Earlier Wasim Haslim scored his second half-century of the match with 54, while skipper Gajanand Singh made 35.
Berbice captain Royston Crandon was the pick of the bowlers with 2-42 from his 12 overs while Esaun Crandon, Brandon Bess and Narsingh Deonarine supported with one wicket apiece.
