Congratualtions to Chronicle on 129th anniversary

PLEASE accept my congratulations on achieving 129 years of service to the nation. On Nov 4th, 1881, Charles Kennedy Jardine a Scotsman, published the first issue of the Daily Chronicle from his office on Hincks St. Charles died in 1902, and his eldest son Douglas carried on the newspapers until 1915 when the family sold their vested interests in the newspapers.

Growing up in BG in the forties during WW11 the Chronicle newspapers whetted our appetite for reading even thought it might have been the Lee Falk – Phantom comic Strips, plus Mute Henry and Little Orphan Annie. Ya think it easy!

Thanks on behalf of the nation for your contributions to all the nations Icons.
