Criminals do not show consideration before butchering people

I am very disappointed with our lawmakers who, after returning from a lengthy recess in have started this new session of Parliament, I believe, on the wrong note.  When all is said and done, they (and I mean the PPP and the opposition parties) have partially abolished the death penalty from the law books. Secondly, they have done a great disservice at the same time to the number of families and persons whose family members were butchered and murdered over the years, and whose killers are currently on death row. Well, the legislation now guarantees that they would not go to the gallows any time soon, if ever at all.
What message are these people sending to the general public and more so to criminals out there? This is indeed worrying to know that our leaders are caving in to the human rights group and not considering the families of victims of gruesome criminal activities.
Sending criminals who commit heinous murders to prison for life is indeed wasting money as they would feed on our hard- earned tax- payers’ dollars. We are going to pay for passing such a law. Our lawmakers would be sorry.
Criminals do not show so much consideration before they butcher people senselessly as our lawmakers did a few days ago in parliament. And to say that it is a “human rights issue” is showing how insensitive and out of touch they really are.
Then again, our entire judiciary has left much to be desired these days. Many criminals are being remanded to the already over crowded prisons instead of passing them through the court system with a speedy hearing or trial. And a wife- beater was jailed last week for three months, after which he would be let out to go and hit women again.
