Government, UNDP to launch Training Programmes today
THE Board of Industrial Training (B.I.T), a subvention agency of the Ministry of Labour will be launching the Government of Guyana (GOG)/United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) East Bank of Demerara Training Programmes today. These programmes involve the training of young people in a number of areas, including Office Administrative Training, Mechanical, Electrical Installation, Cosmetology and Catering.
They are part of the National Training Project for Youth Empowerment (NTPYE) and the UNDP’s Enhanced Public Trust, Security and Inclusion (EPTSI) project.
The Government of Guyana has transformed the Eccles Youth Centre into a training facility for youths of the East Bank of Demerara who have dropped out of school and who require skills for life and may be in need of employment.
The facility will also house a department to assist young people in finding employment as well.
