Cellink partners with Kashif and Shanghai for Sunday’s football showdown

GUYANA Telephone and Telegraph Company (GT&T) Cellink has once again come on board with the Kashif and Shanghai organisation to assist in the hosting of the inaugural President’s Cup International Friendly between the Golden Jaguars and Soca Warriors at the Guyana National Stadium this Sunday.
A press briefing, which  was held yesterday in the canteen of the sponsor’s head office to make public the contribution to the event, was graced with the presence Marketing Manager of the GT&T, Wystan Roberston and Co-Directors of the K&S organisation Kashif Muhammad and Aubrey ‘Shanghai’ Major.
Muhammad was quite brief in his remarks stating that the planning and organising of this event are going well so far and that they are extremely grateful for the support from corporate Guyana and especially from GT&T with whom they have been partners for many years.
When GT&T’s marketing manager got a chance to speak he opened by saying  “GT&T has a tradition of supporting football and when occasions as such arise it allows us to demonstrate our commitment to young people and to the game which we think has really helped in a positive way in the lives of many players,” he said.
He mentioned such an undertaking would be good for players and for the sport since getting exposure to teams with a greater measure of international familiarity will in turn help Guyana to develop and grow.
Robertson concluded by pledging the company’s continued support to the sport since he said they are aware of the amount of football to be played for the remainder of the year.
Meanwhile, Roberston stated that they are pleased with their ‘Emagine’ internet launch because with this they are set to provide live streaming of the game at www.guyana-events-live.com.
Additionally, GT&T are giving supporters a chance to win free tickets to the triple-header event that has Linden Under-17 taking on Georgetown Under-17 in the curtain raiser at 16:00 h. GT&T subscribers need to text ‘Free ticket’ to 620 – FREE (3733) for a chance to win a free ticket for Sunday.
On the day spectators will also have the opportunity to win cash, phones and other prizes when the company stages its novelties games.
Tickets cost $1 000 and went on sale yesterday at the Ashmin’s head office on High Street and at the Kashif and Shanghai office on Irving Street.
