THE police are investigating the murder of Ryan Ramkirpaul, 38, whose body was found at about 09:20hrs on Sunday at the foreshore at Kilcoy, Corentyne, with wounds about the body.
The body is at the New Amsterdam mortuary awaiting a post mortem examination.
Police said Ramkirpaul was released from prison in May of this year.
He has served several prison sentences following convictions for various criminal offences, including robbery, robbery under arms and larceny.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, the police are investigating the murder of Javed Mohamed, 23, of Best Road, Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara, whose body was found at about 01:00 hrs Sunday on the Better Hope Public Road, East Coast Demerara, by ranks of a police patrol.
Javed Mohamed had an injury to his chest and was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body is at the hospital mortuary awaiting a post mortem.
