Fire scare at Reliance Police Station

A fire reportedly broke out around 9:00 h yesterday at the Reliance Police Station in Berbice, resulting in minor damage as a wall in the barrack room on the upper flat was scorched. The Guyana Police Force, in a statement, said the fire was quickly extinguished by alert police ranks on duty at the station at the time.

It is suspected that the fire may be electrical in origin as it was observed shortly after electrical power was restored to the building following a period of power outage.
