ACTING Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday refused bail to Desford Bourne who appeared before her on an attempted murder charge. Bourne, 27, of Kwakwani, Berbice River, was not required to plead to the indictable offence, particulars of which said, on August 30 last, he unlawfully wounded Hollerick Gobin in the attempt.
Defence Counsel Adrian Thompson said the virtual complainant was employed by Bourne but failed to carry out given instructions that led to an altercation.
The lawyer said the victim is out of danger but Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, said Gobin is still hospitalised and is suffering serious neck injuries inflicted with a cutlass.
Bourne was remanded to prison until September 17.
