… tournament to be played nationwide
THE third annual District of Columbia Metro Cricket Organisation (DCMCO) annual softball cricket competition is set to commence on 19th September 2010, with a whopping $150 000 first prize up for grabs this year. For the first time ever, this year’s tournament will be played nationwide and on a knock-out basis, with the final being set for the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) ground on Sunday October 31, when the second-placed team will pocket $75 000.
There will also be a number of incentive prizes and all interested teams will be required to register their 14 players and pay the registration fee which is $5 000 before the commencement of the competition.
Wolf Warriors XI are the defending champions, having defeated Regal XI at the Malteenoes Sports Club ground in last year’s final.
