$20,000 bail for unlawful wounding accused

MAGISTRATE Hazel Octave-Hamilton yesterday released David Pyle on bail when he appeared in court charged with unlawful wounding.
Pyle, 41, of 2 Phase Two, East La Penitence, Georgetown, initially pleaded guilty to the offence but later changed his plea with guidance from Attorney-at-law Peter Hugh.

Particulars of the charge said, on August 24, at Longden Street, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Terrence Thomas.
The father of five told the court that Thomas raped a close relative of his and that is why he assaulted him.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, did not object to bail and Pyle was released in the sum of $20,000. He will return to court on September 30.
