Police seeking assistance from public to identify dead accident victim
THE Guyana Police Force is seeking the assistance of members of the public in identifying a man who was involved in a fatal accident on the Providence Public Road, East Bank Demerara on Monday last.
Police said the victim is of East Indian descent, about 50 to 60 years of age, height about 5 feet, medium built, brown in complexion with a low hair cut and a ‘pony tail’ hair style. The body is clad in a cream jersey, blue long pants and bare feet and is presently lying at the Lyken’s Funeral Parlour.
The man was reportedly struck down when he attempted to cross the road, by the driver of motor car PLL 2595 who was proceeding along the roadway at the time.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital. The driver of the motor vehicle involved in the accident is in police custody assisting with the investigations, Police confirmed.
