The police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at about 22:00 hours on Monday on Brickdam, Georgetown, during which Orin Bacchus, 45, of Jonestown, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, was stabbed by the perpetrator. Investigations revealed that Bacchus was walking along Brickdam when he was confronted by a man armed with a knife who took away his cell phone and $7,500 in cash.  A scuffle ensued between the two men during which Bacchus was stabbed in the chest and abdomen.
Bacchus has been admitted as a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
