Blyden named player-of-the-year for T&T club

GUYANA Defence Force (GDF) right-arm leg-spinner Travis Blyden was named the player-of-the-year for Rousillac Cricket Club (RCC) in Trinidad and Tobago, having topped that club’s average with the bat this season.
He amassed 890 runs with a top score of 110 in limited overs competition and 102 in the two-day league competition, while he took 30 wickets with his leg spin, with a best return of 6-74 in the two-day league competition.

So pleased were the T&T club on Blyden’s performance, that they offered him a contract to return next year, which the former Demerara Under-19 and Transport Sports Club player gleefully accepted.
He plans to return home where he will be looking to work hard on his game, as he aims to make his senior debut in the Demerara team for the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) senior Inter-county tournament, especially the four team four-day President’s Cup tournament.
