WE on the Essequibo Coast and the Pomeroon River have suffered on several occasions because contractors did faulty construction work for government-,be it bridges, roads, streets, schools, hospitals,, sluices just to name a few. It is time some drastic action be taken to discipline these unscrupulous individuals and companies whose ulterior motive is to do the works for a big profit and not for quality. The wharf at Good Hope is a slap in the face for Essequibians and I am waiting to see who will be punished or disciplined for that very important piece of work for our region.
It is time people be each other’s keeper and start look over works being done in your villages by contractors so as to make sure you get value for money.
Wrong doing must be exposed at all levels, for a better Guyana.
Drastic action should be taken against errant contractors
