-Minister Manickchand commends her sterling performance
WHILE IN Barbados attending the Women’s Affairs Ministers’ Meeting (WAMM), Human Services and Social Security Minister, Ms. Priya Manickchand met with and congratulated young Guyanese student, Electra Sadica Coonjah for her excellent performance at the 11+ exams, the island’s equivalent to the Common Entrance examinations.
Ten-year-old Electra, daughter of Karen and Rohit Coonjah, attended the Providence Elementary School, where she scored at the exam a total of 240.74 points to gain a place at the prestigious Harrison College, one of the top secondary schools in Barbados.
The top mark this year was 252. Electra’s parents are both engineers and moved to Barbados in 2006 with Electra and her three younger brothers.
The entire family is relocating to Guyana come next month.
