IT is with deep regret that, we the members of the Guyana Justices of the Peace and Commissioners of Oaths to Affidavits Association have learnt of the recent demise of Norman Faria, Guyana’s Honorary Consul to Barbados.
Mr. Faria was par of the journalistic fraternity here and in the Caribbean. He was an ardent contributor to the Guyana Chronicle among other Dailies, writing on a wide range of topics – from book and film reviews to travel, current issues and covering breaking stories.
He died after a brief period of illness and after having served as Guyana’s Honorary Consul for 1Six years in Barbados, during which time he conscientiously and valiantly represented the interests of Guyanese resident there.
Once again, our membership extends sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Norman Faria.
We recognise that Mr. Faria was a strong supporter of my views in relation to the organisation. He also supported my ideas of compulsory registration of all JP’s & COA’s in the Organisation. He always believed in a united stand to have changes made for the betterment of all JP’s & COA’s.
