COMPTON Barclay, 39, of Lot ‘V’ Bent Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown, was put on $75,000 bail yesterday after he pleaded not guilty to attempting to commit a felony.
Before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, particulars of the offence said it was committed on May 31, when the defendant attempted to steal from the dwelling house of Ralph Rodriguez.
Barclay had told the magistrate he wished to change his plea and finish the matter rather than waste the Court’s time.
However, when Magistrate Robertson informed him that the conviction carries a penalty of two years imprisonment, he opted to maintain his earlier plea and the case was transferred to another Court for June 30.
