AND yet another award for His Excellency President Bharrat Jagdeo in recognition for his green initiative. This time he is to be honoured along with two other persons, by the Guyanese and American Business and professional Council. This is very good news for the nation, who must feel a sense of pride that their leader’s advocacy is bearing fruit for ALL.
Just last week, a Mr. Nantambu, via the SN letter column, questioned the merit of President Jagdeo receiving the United Nations Champions of the Earth Award. Well, since he had thought otherwise, he must now rethink; for another accolade has been announced, and I am sure that there will be others to follow.
Again, it must be reiterated: this nation is on the threshold of great economic advancement because of the President’s wise and tireless efforts. How can the Nantambus of this world still ask such a question? Where do they reside? Do they follow the news? Are they aware that as a result of the President’s efforts that Guyana will be benefitting from a $5B climate change fund? This is in addition to the $250M performance-based funds coming from the Kingdom of Norway. Once again, congratulations to President Jagdeo. Guyana can only become a better country because of his efforts.
