Terry Bacchus died from injuries caused by single bullet

A post mortem was performed yesterday on the body of 36-year-old Terry Bacchus and reports are that a single bullet in his back caused severe internal damages, which resulted in his death.
His sister, Mrs. Janet Baksh, in an invited comment said, “The pathologist told us that his heart and lungs were damaged.”
Bacchus’s body is now at Sandy’s Funeral Home in Georgetown.
His distraught sister said, “He told us he was coming home and instead of coming he gone.”
Bacchus, owner of Double Discount on Water Street, was killed Saturday night at around 21:30h. The man was reportedly leaving the store and was in his car when the perpetrators came up next to his vehicle and shot him. Losing control of his vehicle, the injured man crashed into a nearby tree. He was then rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Bacchus was a popular businessman with operations also at Stabroek Market and Mon Repos on the East Coast of Demerara, as well as smaller operations at other locations on the West Coast of Demerara.

Threat

When asked, his sister made it clear that no one ever called to threaten Bacchus, but he was often told that there were persons who harboured ill-will for him.
“People would come to him and tell him that they hear people want to harm him but he always brushes it off. He used to say that he never had a problem with anyone so no one would want to harm him,” Baksh said.
The man’s sister added that the loss is still being registered by family members as many of them are still in shock.
According to another one of his sisters, Ms. Annette Bacchus, funeral arrangements will be decided on later in the week as the family is awaiting the arrival of other relatives, based overseas.
The 36-year-old man leaves to mourn three children, ages five, eight and 10-years-old, 11 siblings and many other friends and family.
