RAY Daniels, 27, of Lot 32 Ramhit Road (formerly Public Road) Kitty, Georgetown, was yesterday fined $10,000 with the alternative of six months imprisonment for provoking a breach of the peace. He admitted, to Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, that he committed the offence, on May 20, by continuously following Indira Haricharran.
The defendant, who pleaded guilty, told the Court he followed the woman because he wanted to have a relationship with her.
“I told her: ‘Good morning angel’. You looking beautiful this morning but she didn’t say anything. I followed her to work and asked her questions on the way but she would not respond,” Daniels lamented.
The virtual complainant said Daniels is in the habit of waiting at the bus park to follow her to her workplace, where he also enquired of her whereabouts.
However, the defendant’s father, disclosed that his son has a mental problem, takes medication but is not aware of his behaviour.
The magistrate admonished Daniels to desist from stalking Haricharran or any other person.
