RYAN Abrams 26, of Lot 10 South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was yesterday granted $60,000 bail on a larceny from the person charge.
Before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, he pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on March 16, he stole a $40,000 gold chain from Wanda Daniels.
The defendant claimed he never saw the virtual complainant before but she said she recognised him when he snatched her jewel off her neck and escaped.
However, about a week after the incident, she returned to the scene and saw Abrams who was arrested then.
The case has been transferred to another Court for June 21.
