MOULCHAND Arjune, 65, was yesterday put on a one year bond, by Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, after being convicted of simple larceny. The probationer (no address given) pleaded guilty, admitting that, on May 13, he stole one tube of Colgate toothpaste, valued $440, property of Muneshwar’s Limited.
The sexagenarian told the Court he went the store to enquire the price of a hammer but he was too intoxicated to remember anything else that happened, after awaking in the Police lock-ups.
However, he maintained his guilty plea and apologised for what he did and the magistrate reprimanded him before putting him on probation.
