Bridgette Gangadin to be cremated tomorrow

THE body of Bridgette Gangadin, 30, of  3 ‘E’ Lusignan Public Road, will be cremated tomorrow, at Good Hope Crematorium.
Her sister, Natasha Bharrat told the Guyana Chronicle that her husband, who has been released from Police custody, will get possession of the remains for the last hour before her cremation.
She disclosed that the third post mortem, which was scheduled for yesterday morning, did not take place.
Bharrat said she is convinced that her sibling was murdered and it is disturbing that no one is charged, considering the years of abuse the victim suffered.
Daveanand Gangadin was granted an ex parte interim injunction, by Justice Rishi Persaud, last Saturday and that caused the last rites for the deceased to be aborted after angry relatives had already placed her corpse on the pyre.
The husband suffered a beating when he turned up at the site, with Court Marshals, to claim his wife’s body.
A second post mortem examination was performed on Bridgette Gangadin, by Trinidadian pathologist, Professor Hubert Daisley, at Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) mortuary on Friday, May 7, but local Police are awaiting his formal written report.
The woman was found on the roadway at Vigilance, East Coast Demerara, on May 2 and the first autopsy, by Dr. Nehaul Singh, established that the mother of three succumbed to a fractured skull and injuries consistent with her head being crushed.
Police, in a previously issued press release, had said they were investigating her suspected murder and arrested her husband.
However, there were conflicting reports about how the woman met her demise, including one that she jumped from the vehicle which her husband was driving during a quarrel between them and that he panicked and drove away from the scene after realising that he had, accidentally, run over his wife.
