GFF Super League double-header at GFC ground

KEEN and intense rivalry is set to unfold at the Georgetown Football Club ground, Bourda, this afternoon when play in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Super League continues with an explosive double-header. From 20.00 h in the feature match defending champions and unbeaten points leaders Alpha United take on 8th place Bakewell ToppXX. But before that at 18:00 h in the curtain-raiser Sunburst Camptown, who are currently in seventh spot, will oppose bottom-of-the-table Seawall FC.
Alpha United with 18 points from six matches with a similar number of wins are expected to field a formidable lineup consisting of Anthony `Awo’ Abrams, Dwight Peters and Jamaicans Oneke Ford and Troyon Williams, in addition to Howard Lowe, Kelvin McKenzie and custodian Ronson Williams.
Spearheading ToppXX’s response will be Charles Rose, Troy Nelson, Quacy Johnson, Michael Crandon, Trevor Waterman and Keron Cameron as the Lindeners seek to add to their four points.
With just six points to their credit, Camptown will be relying on Troy Prescod, Rishawn Sandiford, Lance Raulston and Devon Forde in pursuit of registering their third victory. Leading Seawall FC’s response will be Tonie Lopes, Garlan Lewis, Adami Hoyte and Marvin Griffith towards adding to their three points.
Meanwhile, the double-header that should have been played on Wednesday will have to be rescheduled to a later date due to the unplayable conditions at the Enmore Community Centre ground after overnight and early morning showers.
