THE lack of potable water supply to residents of lower East Coast Demerara, over last weekend, was due to internal electrical problems caused by a power outage in the area, Guyana Water Inc. (GWI) disclosed yesterday. The utility said the situation is expected to be rectified by today and normal flow will be restored to Non Pariel, Coldingen, Melanie Damishana and surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, consumers in North, South and Central Ruimveldt, in Georgetown, will get better service when GWI gets a new pump for Central Ruimveldt Well and full water pressure is resumed.
