THE mutilated body of Michael Kissoon, aged 36 was removed from a known drug yard at Angoy’s Avenue last Sunday and taken to the New Amsterdam hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Kissoon was allegedly killed following reports of acts of sodomy suspected to have been preformed by him on the suspect.
The assailant, aged 48, who is in police custody at the New Amsterdam Police Station , when questioned as to the reason for the dastardly act allegedly told officers, “every night dis man does sodomize me .I does talk to he, but he continues the act. Last night he do it .I wake up and get vex and chop he up.”
A neighbour, who spoke to the Guyana Chronicle under the condition of anonymity, said he was doing some carpentry when, shortly after 09:00 hours, he heard a muffled shout.
However, because the persons next door are usually noisy, he did not pay much attention, until he saw the police ranks and a large gathering at about midday.
Moving to his front gate he saw someone being taken away on a stretcher.
Persons on the eastern fringe of New Amsterdam collectively stated that the yard is traversed by drug users and as such quarrels and fights are a norm.
The owner of the house, where the killing took place, Oswald Hikens is a convicted narcotic trafficker and is currently serving a five year imprisonment.
A visit to the scene on Sunday revealed blood stains on the northern end of the partially concrete yard, where a dog stood by guarding.
A short distance away, Kissoon ‘s sister Carmen Cossaih , said she got the news while at church, however she could not relate further details, as her sibling left her home over a year ago.
Kissoon is a known character in New Amsterdam, and can be seen doing odd jobs in and around the community.
Police said the now deceased sustained injuries to the back of his head, left and right arm, left shoulder, right ear and left upper arm.
