Dear Prime Minister,
The Government and people of the Republic of Guyana join me in extending sincere condolences on the sudden, tragic death of His Excellency Lech Kaczynski, President of the Republic of Poland.
Guyana joins the international community in paying tribute to this great Statesman who championed the cause for democracy and worked tirelessly in pursuit of economic and social justice for his people.
As the people of Poland come to terms with this grave loss, we hope that they would take comfort in the knowledge that their late President was highly respected in the international arena.  He enhanced the profile of Poland in its external relations and the political and economic stability currently enjoyed by the country is testimony to his fair and astute leadership.
I ask that you convey our heartfelt sympathies to his sorrowing relatives as well as to the families of those officials who also perished in the tragic plane crash with their beloved President.
